Originally this blog was going to be about travel and lifestyle, but I thought I may as well share things beauty and skin related just to add something new. So my reviews will most likely be drugstore products, as I normally order everything from Superdrug when I make a visit to London. The skin care products are based on my very oily and spot-prone skin.
The Superdrug Tea Tree Cleanser and Toner 200ml (£3.29) is a cleanser and toner by Superdrug from their Tea Tree Oil range. I started using this in 2013-2014 and I've been using it ever since. That might be because it works for me, or it could be because I haven't really had that much experience with daily cleansers and toners. I've been using it since the packaging was slightly different, and by the next time I go to London, it would have probably changed again.
Product description
The light non-greasy 2-in-1 cleanser and toner with natural tea tree and peppermint oils removes dirt, makeup and other skin impurities, helping to promote a clearer spot free complexion felling soft and fresh.
How I use this product
I use this in the morning after the shower and before I go to bed. I know that you're supposed to use a lot more than I do, and put it on a new cotton pad everyday, but my Indian blood makes me not want to waste that much. I put a little bit on a baby wipe and rub it all over my face. Then I wash my face and reuse the baby wipe the next day.
My experience with this product
When I was 10 and just starting to get oily skin and spots, my mum just fixed me up with some random facial toner (which was this one) that would hopefully do the job of keeping my skin clean. To be honest, this did the basic job. It's definitely not the best one, nor did it clear up my skin completely, but it definitely cleaned it as I saw from the brown on the baby wipe. I think this would be a better make-up remover, which doesn't really work for me as I hardly wear makeup. If you have oily skin and are looking for something to take the shine off, this slightly takes the shine off for about 2 hours. It leaves your skin feeling clean and refreshed. However, it hasn't tremendously made a difference to my skin, at least not a very visible difference. This has a peppermint smell and it's not for everybody. When I first started using it I didn't like it at all, but I learnt to get used to it.
Pros
Great makeup remover
Suitable for vegetarians and vegans
Pepperment feels refreshing
Cons
Could work a bit better at toning
Would probably be quite drying for people with dry skin
Rating and would I recommend it
I would rate this 7/10. I would recommend it to people with oily skin or people who want a refreshing makeup remover, but not for experts on toners and cleansers because it might not be up to your standards.
Will I repurchase this product?
I don't think I will anytime soon, because I want to try out more highly rated skin products.
The other products in this range are also very refreshing, and I might do a review on them as well.
Ok I'm sorry if that was a bad review. I've never done one before and I'm new to this whole thing, so just give me time.
